Call for Participants: Park(ing) Day Toronto 2026

Park(ing) Day is a global, public, participatory art project that takes place annually on the third weekend of September. Around the world, people temporarily repurpose on-street, boulevard or lot parking spaces and convert them into tiny parks and places for art, play, and activism.

Join the movement across the Greater Toronto Area on the third weekend in September by transforming a parking space into a People Space—a pop-up park, art installation, or community gathering spot—for one day, or all three!

Park(ing) Day is about making cities more sustainable for people and communities. In that spirit, they ask that all activations embrace sustainability and circularity practices. Use found or repurposed items to create your activation, find a second life for materials used after the event, and ensure minimal waste. Grant applicants will be required to include a circular and sustainable approach plan.
